SUMMARY
The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager with the overall management and administrative functions of the store. This position involves strategizing methods and approaches to achieve the store's objectives. The Supervisor possesses comprehensive knowledge of each product category within the store and adheres to the policies and standards outlined in the operational guidelines. A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and effectively promoting merchandise is essential. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Retail Operations Supervisor takes on full responsibility for store operations and is well-versed in the duties of the Store Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Store Manager in safeguarding the assets of the retail establishment.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop action plans aimed at fulfilling departmental and overall store objectives, including sales, inventory management, merchandising, ordering, and staff scheduling.
- Assume complete oversight of the store during the Store Manager's absence.
- Support the Store Manager in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of personnel.
- Provide assistance and expertise to team members and customers across all departments as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and expenses to ensure departmental profitability.
- Guide staff to ensure all departmental responsibilities and standards are met.
- Keep the Store Manager updated on inventory trends and customer preferences.
- Ensure that high-quality customer service is consistently delivered.
- Perform various administrative tasks as required and be prepared to take on Store Manager responsibilities.
- Deliver exceptional customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including greeting customers upon entry and assisting multiple customers during busy periods.
- Promote and sell the services and products offered by the retail establishment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards as detailed in the operational and personnel manuals.
- Protect the company's assets and financial data by ensuring the effectiveness of internal control procedures and reporting any potential fraud risks to management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises staff in the absence of the Store Manager. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as resolving any issues that arise.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a retail environment, ideally within the footwear and athletic apparel sector.
- 1-3 years of experience in customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Capable of assisting in team management and achieving overall goals and profitability.
- Self-motivated with the initiative to undertake significant tasks independently.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
- A collaborative team player, dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise.
