SUMMARY

The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in the overall management and administrative functions of the store. This position is essential for implementing strategies to achieve the store's objectives. The Supervisor possesses in-depth knowledge of various product categories and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service while promoting the store's merchandise. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Retail Operations Supervisor assumes full responsibility for store operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Store Manager in safeguarding the assets of the retail establishment.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop action plans aimed at fulfilling departmental and store-wide responsibilities, including sales, inventory management, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Take charge of store operations during the Store Manager's absence.
  • Support the Store Manager in recruiting, training, and evaluating personnel.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members and customers across all departments as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels, sales data, and expenses to ensure departmental profitability.
  • Direct staff to ensure that departmental responsibilities and standards are met.
  • Keep the Store Manager updated on inventory trends and customer preferences.
  • Ensure that high-quality customer service is consistently delivered.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as required and be well-versed in the Store Manager's responsibilities.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, assisting customers upon entry and during peak shopping times.
  • Promote and sell the services and products offered by the retail store.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards as detailed in the operational and personnel manuals.
  • Protect the company's assets and financial data by ensuring the accuracy of internal control measures and reporting any potential fraud risks to management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

In the absence of the Store Manager, the Retail Operations Supervisor oversees employees, fulfilling supervisory duties in line with company policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, assigning tasks, and resolving workplace issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a retail setting, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to assist in team management and achieve overall goals and profitability.
  • Self-motivated with the initiative to undertake significant tasks independently.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A collaborative team player with a passion for excellent customer service and sales.
