Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Patient Advocate to join our team. As a Patient Advocate, you will play a critical role in connecting uninsured hospital patients to programs that will cover their medical expenses.
Key Responsibilities- Screening and Enrollment: Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine if they are eligible for federal, state, and/or county medical or disability assistance programs.
- Application Completion: Complete the necessary applications and follow through until approved.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in applicable company programs and hospital systems.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service skills to patients and hospital staff.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing trainings to stay up-to-date on government programs and regulations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors to ensure seamless patient care.
- Administrative Tasks: Answer incoming telephone calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork necessary for patient enrollment and renewal.
- Education and Experience: Some college coursework preferred, prior hospital experience a plus.
- Adaptability and Critical Thinking: Ability to adapt to changing processes, computer systems, and government programs.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, hospital staff, and government agencies.
- Technical Skills: Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
