ABOUT THE ROLE:

Objective of the Role: To assist in the facilitation of interfaith initiatives through the Chaplains Office, catering to the diverse community of students, faculty, and staff across the Claremont Colleges.

Key Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities are essential for the successful execution of this role:
  • Assist Chaplains in the organization and promotion of interfaith gatherings for the Claremont Colleges community.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of an interfaith banquet for the Claremont Colleges.
  • Initiate, design, and lead interfaith leadership training sessions for students, faculty, and staff as necessary.
  • Support Chaplains with various events and programs held at the McAlister Center.
  • Create engaging opportunities for interaction between students, faculty, and staff with the Chaplains through various media platforms.
  • Collaborate with Chaplain-related staff and fellow student workers on additional projects.
  • Foster relationship-building between the McAlister Center and other campus organizations, as well as with interfaith opportunities in the broader community.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications: The following qualifications are necessary to perform the key responsibilities of this role, or the individual must demonstrate how the essential functions will be fulfilled using other relevant qualifications:

Education: Must be currently enrolled and attending one of the Claremont Colleges.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable, organized, creative, and energetic demeanor.
  • Experience engaging with undergraduate and graduate student populations.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of leveraging social media for event promotion and service awareness.
  • Other relevant knowledge, skills, or competencies.
Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Experience in planning and promoting both small and large-scale events and informational campaigns.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including but not limited to students of color, students with disabilities, low-income and/or first-generation students, international students, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Familiarity with interfaith resources and best practices.
Work Hours: The regular hours for this position are up to 20 hours per week, with variability based on the needs of the organization.

COMPENSATION

Pay: $16.00 per hour.
