About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at the YMCA of Western North Carolina. As a Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for our members and program participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively scan and maintain constant vigilance over the aquatic area to ensure the safety of all individuals.
  • Respond to emergency situations immediately and complete related reports as required.
  • Build positive relationships with members and program participants through effective listening and verbal skills.
  • Exhibit honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, reliability, flexibility, maturity, and good decision-making skills at all times.
Requirements
  • Minimum age 15.
  • Nationally recognized lifeguard certification (training available for qualified candidates).
  • Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
