Wound Care Specialist

RN Wound Care Specialist - Full-Time
The Wound Care Specialist provides comprehensive treatment and consultation to patients, serving as a role model and leader to the nursing staff. This position requires a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current RN license in Kentucky or a work permit. A minimum of two years' experience in wound care or direct patient care is necessary. Certification as a Wound/Ostomy Care Nurse (WOCN) is preferred but not required at hire, with a goal of obtaining it within 12 months.
Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive treatment and consultation to patients
Serves as a role model and leader to the nursing staff
Participates in physician, patient, and staff education
Advocates early identification, treatment initiation, patient evaluation, and discharge planning
Adheres to hospital policies and procedures
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school
Current RN license in Kentucky or work permit
Minimum of two years' experience in wound care or direct patient care
Certification as Wound/Ostomy Care Nurse (WOCN) preferred
