K-8 Arts Education Leader

The K-8 Arts Education Leader plays a pivotal role in providing effective instructional guidance for the educational staff, focusing on the development, execution, and assessment of a comprehensive educational program while adhering to district policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer leadership and direction for all facets of the school's operations.
- Act as an instructional leader by coordinating the formulation and oversight of the school improvement strategy aligned with the district's mission.
- Conduct evaluations of teaching staff and assist in setting instructional objectives to enhance student success and professional development.
- Assign teaching staff to mentor student teachers, interns, and resident teachers, ensuring a meaningful learning experience.
- Exhibit visible leadership within the school and the community, advocating for the school to all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with central office administrators regarding the school's needs, including curriculum, personnel, and financial operations.
- Oversee the budgeting process at the school level.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety plan for students and staff in accordance with established district policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance for educational monitoring and compliance.
- Establish a system for maintaining appropriate student behavior to foster a conducive learning environment.
- Participate in the selection and recruitment of qualified personnel.
- Manage the administration of standardized testing within the school.
- Ensure effective delivery of the district-adopted curriculum to enrolled students.
- Implement and manage employee contracts at the school site.
- Ensure compliance with School Board policies, state laws, and federal regulations.
- Utilize district and community resources to address school needs.
- Seek grants and establish business partnerships to support school initiatives.
- Supervise the timely completion of data collection and reporting requirements.
- Engage in district leadership meetings to enhance professional growth.
- Collaborate with school and district personnel to execute district initiatives.
- Promote the vision and mission of the district through proactive leadership.
- Master's Degree in areas such as Curriculum, Instruction, Administration, Counseling, or Education.
- Valid Administrator Certification in Michigan.
- Five or more years of successful teaching experience.
- Experience in a leadership role at the secondary school level.
- Experience in a K-8 and/or Visual & Performing Arts educational setting.
- Understanding of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) models.
- Knowledge of special education laws and practices.
Contract: 261 Work Days (12 Month Calendar)
Reports To: Director of Secondary Education
