Senior Credit Officer

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Credit Officer to join our team at Moody's. As a key member of our Financial Institutions Group, you will be responsible for providing in-depth credit analysis and thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics and research impact.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned credits and take thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics and research impact
- Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis effectively and comprehensively on a regular basis and at rating committees
- Build and maintain high-quality relationships with firms' senior management, intermediaries, and other external stakeholders
- Write in-depth, high-quality, insightful, and focused research on credit trends, specific issuers, or banking industry trends
- Enhance Moody's franchise and thought leadership for banks and non-banks finance entities through active interaction with intermediaries and participation in high-profile events
- Coach and develop junior analysts; provide feedback on performance
- Participate in key divisional and cross-line of business initiatives
- Strong academic background, at least equivalent to an MBA/CFA
- 15+ years of assessing all aspects of financial institutions' risk – capital, asset quality, liquidity, funding, and sensitivity – gained from a regulator, financial institution, asset management, or public accounting firm, credit rating agency, or proven equivalent
- Extensive understanding of the US banking and bank regulation, as well as a well-rounded understanding of financial markets
- Excellent communication skills – able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing, with public speaking experience
- Strong quantitative and proven analytical skills – including demonstrated work with financial and economic data to inform research and analysis of banks
- Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
