Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to support the Long Beach VA Health Care System. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients, including monitoring ventilator patients, administering various respiratory therapy procedures, and instructing patients and relatives on home self-care.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer various respiratory therapy procedures, including adult mechanical ventilation, ultrasonic nebulization, humidification, nebulizing medication, chest physiotherapy, and various forms of oxygen therapy.
  • Perform sputum inductions, having patient's breath nebulized particles (if necessary) of appropriate solutions for diagnostic tests as routine culture and sensitivity, TB and fungal cultures, and cytologist examinations for abnormal cells.
  • Perform nasal tracheal suctioning to obtain culture using aseptic technique.
  • Instruct patients and relatives on home self-care relative to home aerosol, home oxygen, etc. with proper documentation in the patient's record via computer.
  • Provide appropriate equipment to patients receiving respiratory care following all infection control policies and procedures.
  • Respond to all emergency and cardiac arrests alarms and be responsible to assure adequate ventilation or give assistance as required.
Requirements:
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed or otherwise licensed in the specialty area.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
  • Three (3) year of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience in a hospital setting.
Working Conditions:
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
