Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Attorney - Corporate to join our team at the California Association of Realtors. As a key member of our Corporate Legal department, you will provide legal advice and counsel to our organization on a wide range of corporate and business matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, draft, and review various contracts and agreements.
  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on corporate governance, compliance, antitrust, and business strategy.
  • Advise on professional standards and MLS issues, and provide legal support and assistance to local associations.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal developments affecting trade associations, antitrust, real property, and other relevant topics.
  • Draft and review legal articles, position papers, and other materials.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda as needed.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Member of the California State Bar.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a law firm or comparable in-house experience, with a focus on transactional work, including contract drafting, negotiation, and review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with corporate investments, mergers and acquisitions, and/or corporate governance.

  • A collaborative, team-oriented attitude with superior interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
