Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Registration Associate to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Patient Registration Associate, you will be the first point of contact for our members and patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless registration experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for members and patients, greeting them with a smile and providing a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assist members and patients through the registration process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of registration tasks.
  • Collect patient financial liabilities, including copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
  • Practice proper cash handling and reconciliation processes, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Provide information and expert knowledge of Kaiser Permanente's health plan portfolio, services, and business cycle.
  • Assist with wayfinding, environment monitoring, and creating a seamless member/patient experience between registration and receiving departments.
  • Perform advanced account reconciliation, including proactive reconciliation, correcting known benefit issues, and addressing eligibility concerns.
Requirements
  • Two years of work experience involving public contact, clerical, or reception work.
  • Two years of work experience involving cash handling or cash balance reconciliation, including one year of experience using multiple business software applications simultaneously.
  • High school graduation or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation, problem-solving, and verbal communication ability.
  • Data Entry 4500 KPH with 5% error rate or less.
  • Typing with 35 wpm with 5% error rate or less.
  • Math assessment - must obtain a proficient score between 2.51 or above.
  • Comprehension/critical thinking must obtain a proficient score 2.51 or above.
  • Basic Computer Literacy must have a score 70% or higher.
  • Service assessment must obtain score in the 31st percentile or above.
Working Conditions

This role may require working in a high-traffic area with constant interruptions, fluctuating temperatures, and artificial lighting. The ability to stand or sit for extended periods and rotate between workstations is also required.
