About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud SRE Manager to lead our platform-focused SRE team and ensure the reliability of our applications hosted within Abbott data centers and Azure cloud.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement structured engineering and operations processes to ensure the reliability and availability of our cloud-based services.
  • Lead the team in daily agile SRE practices, ensuring proper team focus on priorities, achievements, and deliverables.
  • Optimize cloud data workloads for security, cost, performance, latency, reliability, and availability.
  • Drive incident management and post-mortem analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support audits and compliance, adhering to applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Implement effective standards, methodologies, and processes, driving change proactively as appropriate for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Mathematics, or related field, with 8-10 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 6+ years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Azure Cloud or similar cloud platform, Java and middleware applications.
  • Advanced knowledge with continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD).
  • Ability to lead development and production environments, including on-call support and health monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of architecture and strong foundation of networking and Linux.
  • Capability to collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, engage in knowledge transfers, and provide guidance and lead a team.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in patching, security remediations, security hardening, threat modeling, and pen testing.
  • Previous exposure to medical devices, biomedical or high technology industry.
  • Experience managing strict SLAs, operational KPIs and cost optimization of cloud and PaaS infrastructure.
