Job Title: Construction Quality Control Manager

Midnight Sun is seeking a highly skilled Construction Quality Control Manager to support Federal construction contracts in the New Orleans, LA area.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overall site safety and the site Quality Control Plan of the contract. This includes developing and implementing project-specific quality control, inspecting and evaluating work areas, and ensuring that subcontractors are aware of all project quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project-specific quality control plans
  • Inspect and evaluate work areas in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Develop, gather, maintain, and/or submit work plans, submittals, reports, etc.
  • Ensure that subcontractors are aware of all project quality control
  • Plan and conduct a three-phase inspection program
  • Lead and document quality control meetings with the project team and/or customers
  • Provide daily quality control reports to achieve desired quality outcomes
  • Verify and document that all materials/equipment received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal
  • Schedule, coordinate, and document all required code and independent inspections
  • Review the as-built drawings to ensure that they are current and that deviations from the contract drawings are addressed
  • Review the Job Site Safety Plan and conduct safety inspections
  • Stop work; reject materials and/or equipment; and direct the removal and replacement of any work not in compliance with contract documents
  • Communicate and interact as a team member with all trades, manufacturers, suppliers, construction staff, and customer representatives
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager in Federal construction OR a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management with a minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with USACE RMS CM and EM
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
