Position Overview

The Supervising Dentist plays a vital role in preparing Dental Assistant students for success by providing guidance and oversight in key areas such as radiation safety, x-rays, and patient screening. You will work closely with the Program Manager and Lead Instructor to ensure that students receive comprehensive training and practical experience.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct student and patient examinations as required by course syllabi and lesson plans.
  • Evaluate curriculum content, including periodic review of x-rays, records, and other relevant materials.
  • Ensure the quality, radiation safety, and technical aspects of all examinations and procedures are maintained.
  • Provide non-invasive chair-side dental services to student patients for teaching purposes and hands-on practice.
  • Assess the currency, depth, and breadth of Dental Assistant courses relative to current state standards.
  • Participate in an annual Program Advisory Committee meeting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current Dentist license required.
  • Continued active license and completion of necessary continuing education requirements as prescribed by the licensing board maintained during employment.
  • Three years of demonstrated success in a management position.
  • Knowledge of teaching methodology.
  • Superior computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
