Job Description

The Environmental Science Department at BHCC seeks an experienced Adjunct Professor to teach Introduction to GIS (GIS-224). This course is designed for students pursuing majors in Environmental Science and those seeking to fulfill General Education Program Requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lectures and online modules on fundamental GIS concepts and cartographic design.
  • Facilitate hands-on computer-based exercises to enhance student understanding of GIS software and applications.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student success.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in ESRI GIS Pro Software.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching at the community college or university level.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Online or remote teaching experience is preferred.
