Position Overview

The Housekeeper is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility, including resident rooms, restrooms, dining areas, hallways, communal spaces, and offices. Responsibilities encompass tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, sweeping, dusting, polishing, and buffing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the organization's personnel, safety, and operational policies
  • Immediately report any observed or reported incidents of resident abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities
  • Interact with residents, family members, visitors, and colleagues with respect and dignity
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and family information
  • Punctually report to work as scheduled
  • Vacuum resident rooms, hallways, and common areas with carpeting
  • Sweep and mop tile and linoleum floors
  • Perform floor stripping and waxing as per the maintenance schedule
  • Empty and sanitize trash receptacles
  • Thoroughly clean restrooms, including sinks, toilets, grab bars, floors, walls, and showers
  • Polish mirrors and windows
  • Dust ceilings, vents, lights, and other elevated areas regularly
  • Rearrange furniture to ensure thorough cleaning
  • Clean mattresses and beds according to the established schedule, flipping them as necessary
  • Sanitize dining areas post-meals and special events
  • Maintain cleanliness in all common areas, employee break rooms, visitor restrooms, hallways, and handrails
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety
  • Uphold resident confidentiality at all times
Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • If driving is necessary for job duties, compliance with the company's motor vehicle policy is mandatory
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is essential
  • Willingness to work beyond standard hours, including weekends and holidays, when required
  • Capability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergencies
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Employees must use a transfer/gait belt or seek assistance when lifting or carrying objects over 25 pounds. Awareness of natural body movements during routine tasks is important
