Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Assist doctors in patient care, including visual acuity, lensometry, refractions, tonometry, muscle testing, and pupil exams.
- Diagnostic Studies: Perform diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by providers, including Ascans, Visual Fields, Glare Test, Keratometry, Corneal Thickness, and OCT.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain medical equipment, ensuring it is calibrated, cleaned, sterilized, charged, and covered.
- Communication: Handle patient and clinical messages, and perform incidental duties as needed.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification: Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong customer service orientation, strong team player, basic computer proficiency, and minimum of one year of experience in a similar role required.
As an Ophthalmic Technician at Florida Medical Clinic, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be required to stand or walk for long periods, use proper body mechanics, and have normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making.
