Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the doctor in patient care, ensuring prompt and professional service
  • Perform visual acuity, lensometry, refractions, tonometry, muscle testing, confrontation visual fields, and pupil exams
  • Utilize proper installation of eye drops and sterility
  • Perform diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the providers (Ascans, Visual Fields, Glare Test, Keratometry, Corneal Thickness, OCT)
  • Maintain medical equipment, ensuring all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, sterilized, charged, and covered
  • Handle patient and clinical messages
  • Perform incidental duties as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician preferred but not required
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong team player
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role required
