Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will play a vital role in enhancing our research initiatives related to Direct Air Capture (DAC) and Carbon Management. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting experimental development and validation of cutting-edge DAC and/or Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies.
- Performing process simulations and comprehensive assessments of DAC and/or CCUS value chains, including cost and life cycle analysis.
- Designing and optimizing reactors through both phenomenological and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methodologies.
- Utilizing strong analytical skills to interpret and analyze both simulation and experimental data effectively.
- Initiating and developing funded research projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams focused on Carbon Dioxide Removal.
- Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams that integrate experimentalists and modelers.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related fields, with a focus on reactor and process design.
- A strong passion for research in Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR), CCUS, and decarbonization efforts.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting multidisciplinary research and contributing to funded projects.
- Proven track record in planning, sourcing, and developing new research initiatives.
- Ability to meet academic writing standards for proposals, reports, and scientific publications.
- Understanding of the operational requirements necessary for successful research project management.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
