Job Summary

The Psychologist will work as a clinical psychologist under the supervision of the Section Chief, Audrey Hepburn Children's House and the Supervisor Psychology, in accordance with the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of the American Psychological Association, guidelines from the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners, and standards set forth by the Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

1. Conducts diagnostic evaluations and demonstrates knowledge and skills in the use and interpretation of assessment tools and subsequent integration into the formulation of a diagnostic impression.

2. Performs specialized psychological and psychosocial evaluations of children and adults in cases of child maltreatment and family violence.

3. Provides effective, evidence-based psychological interventions.

4. Provides specialized trauma-informed treatment to children and families in cases of child maltreatment and family violence.

5. Functions as a consultant in the Department of Pediatrics in the areas of child maltreatment.

6. Provides case management and coordination with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P).

7. Maintains records and documentation of patient contact according to the laws of the State of New Jersey and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P).

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Earned Doctorate in Psychology, internship in clinical child, school psychology, adult clinical and/or pediatric psychology.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Post-doctoral training and/or experience in child maltreatment or forensic psychology.

License and Certifications Required: 1. Psychologist License or Practicing Psychologist License.
