Job Title: Orthopedic Surgery Specialist - Musculoskeletal Oncology

The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Orthopedic Surgery Specialist to join our team in the Musculoskeletal Oncology department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, advancing medical knowledge, and contributing to the growth and development of our department.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time tenure track appointment with an initial probationary period of seven years. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide full-time clinical practice in the orthopedic surgery sub-specialty area of Musculoskeletal Oncology.
  • Participate actively in the advancement and education of medical students and orthopedic surgery residents.
  • Contribute to the Musculoskeletal Oncology sub-division and Cancer Center committees and initiatives.
  • Participate in orthopedic departmental and faculty meetings or other assigned committees or initiatives as assigned by the Chair.
Requirements:
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible MD or DO from an accredited University.
  • Orthopedic Surgery Residency completion from an ACGME accredited training program.
  • Fellowship training in the sub-specialty area of Musculoskeletal Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or training with Adult and Pediatric patient populations.
  • Interest in areas of bone and soft tissue sarcomas, metastatic disease, and complex joint reconstructions in tumor patients.
