Crew Chief Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Chief to lead a team of construction, maintenance, and repair professionals in various departments throughout the City of Oklahoma City.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a crew of 2-4 persons performing general and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed, and enforce compliance among crew members.
  • Transport workers and equipment to job sites, complete daily work orders, and report on project progress.
  • Work with minimal supervision, making decisions and taking responsibility for crew performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to achieve project goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of safety procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) required.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push, or carry objects weighing up to 95 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to use hand tools and operate equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Outside work in various weather conditions.
  • Possibility of suffering sprains, cuts, or fractures while performing work-related activities.
  • Subject to working on or around wet, muddy, or slippery surfaces.
  • Subject to working near traffic and moving machinery.

Physical Requirements:

  • Strength to lift, pull, push, or carry objects weighing up to 95 pounds.
  • Stamina to exert oneself physically throughout the workday.
  • Flexibility and gross body coordination to bend, twist, or reach out when performing work-related activities.
