Qualifications Required:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association
- Prior surgical experience or relevant on-the-job training
- Preferred certification in surgical technology
- Experience in Neuro OR is a plus
Role Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Surgical Services, the Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in assisting the surgical team by ensuring the availability of necessary instruments and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure.
- Responsible for identifying and procuring the surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies required for procedures as per the surgeon's specifications and patient needs; assists in the exchange of drug trays under the guidance of licensed medical personnel. Ensures proper care and handling of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Executes scrub duties in accordance with the surgeon's preferences and institutional protocols. Proactively anticipates the needs of the surgeon for instruments, ligatures, sponges, and irrigation during surgical operations.
