Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at MidHudson Regional Home Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain physical and mental functioning, and adjust to disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct medically prescribed occupational therapy programs to facilitate patient rehabilitation.
  • Develop and implement activities to help patients regain physical or mental functioning, or adjust to disabilities.
  • Assess patient needs and capabilities to determine the most effective treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate occupational therapy activities with other therapeutic services.
  • Teach patients skills and techniques required for participation in activities, and instruct patients in self-help activities such as eating, dressing, and writing.
  • Evaluate patient progress and record observations and data.
  • Design and fit adaptive devices, such as splints and braces, under medical prescription.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • A minimum of six months of supervised occupational therapy experience satisfactory to the New York State Board for Occupational Therapy.
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program with a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, required. Master's degree, preferred.
  • Must possess a limited permit* to practice Occupational Therapy issued by the New York State Education Department, and must have applied for or taken the licensing examination for Occupational Therapy given by the American Occupational Therapy Association OR must possess license and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department as an Occupational Therapist.
