Job Summary

The Westchester Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing evaluations and treatment to individuals needing occupational therapy services, as well as performing administrative and supervisory duties.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Treatment
    • Conduct diagnostic evaluations of patients, set goals, and re-evaluate patients at regular intervals over the course of treatment.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are consistent with the results of the evaluation and the physician prescription.
  • Administrative and Supervisory Duties
    • Supervise Occupational Therapy staff as assigned, including timely completion of their performance appraisals.
    • Attend and actively participate in all departmental and service area meetings, training programs, and other professional activities.
  • Communication and Documentation
    • Communicate with patients and, with patient consent, with families and caregivers in a manner that facilitates their understanding of the treatment being provided and the achievement of positive outcomes.
    • Accurately complete and submit required non-clinical documentation, including billing, scheduling, coverage/hand-off information, and letters to patients regarding missed or cancelled visits.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Five or more years of experience as a Licensed Occupational Therapist and/or certification in a specialty area or technique, including two years of clinical supervisory experience.
  • EDUCATION
    • Graduation from an accredited program with a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, and/or Doctor in Occupational Therapy as an Occupational Therapist.
  • LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
    • New York State license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
