Spice Mixer

We are seeking a skilled Spice Mixer to join our production team at T. Marzetti Company. As a Spice Mixer, you will be responsible for combining liquid and granular ingredients according to recipe to produce sauces and dressings.

• Operate mixing equipment, pumps, mills, and valves to produce high-quality sauces and dressings.
• Maintain proper production schedule and ensure timely delivery of products.
• Provide product samples to the lab as specified.
• Practice integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement, and positive interactions with all team members and visitors.
• Record all information as required.
• Weigh ingredients for mixing process.
• Roll or push ingredient drums and pallets to weigh and prepare for each batch according to schedule and specifications.
• Read scales and perform arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
• Operate HMI's (computer panel controls) to regulate and control bulk ingredients and pumping flows.
• Maintain standard production quantities/rates for each product.
• Clean and rinse equipment according to specified procedures.
• Monitor equipment to detect malfunctions; make minor adjustments/repairs; communicate mechanical problems to maintenance.
• Mount supplies on spindles or place supplies in hoppers or other feeding devices.
• Coordinate information and equipment with prior and next shifts, leads, and other departments.
• Fills in for and assists other departments when necessary.

• Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with team members & management.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and strong math skills are required.
• Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.

Works in a manufacturing environment where the team member is regularly required to speak, read, and comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.

Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances.

Lift up to 75 pounds repetitively.

Stand for up to 12 hours with regular breaks.

May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.
