Position Overview:
As a key member of the healthcare team, the Assistant Director of Nursing plays a vital role in overseeing nursing operations and ensuring high-quality care delivery. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise and administrative skills to effectively manage nursing services.
Qualifications:
- Location: New York, United States
- Salary: $126,880.00 annually
- Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Associate degree or RN Diploma is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare or nursing administration is required.
- Must possess an active RN license in the state of employment with unrestricted status. Specialty certification is preferred (e.g., CCHP, ACHE).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational skills, and effective communication are required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
- Adherence to YesCare and departmental policies and procedures is mandatory.
- Initial and ongoing security clearance is required.
A comprehensive background check, security clearance, and drug screening will be conducted for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for:
- Serving as the senior clinical nurse for designated areas of responsibility.
- Supervising the daily nursing services provided to the patient population.
- Assisting in the development of monthly staffing schedules in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator (HSA) and Director of Nursing (DON).
- Conducting weekly visits to clinical areas to assess staff performance and address ongoing issues.
- Ensuring timely submission of state-required data to Infection Control.
- Actively participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitoring and addressing patient grievances in a timely manner.
- Implementing and enforcing current policies and procedures, recommending updates as necessary.
- Coordinating proper orientation for new staff prior to their assignments.
- Following standard precautions and utilizing personal protective equipment as required.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
