Custodian Assistant

Job Summary:

Maintain a clean and safe working environment for staff and visitors by performing standard custodial and grounds maintenance duties in County-owned buildings.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and empty waste baskets, change liners, and remove trash in all offices and work areas.
• Dust and polish surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, and/or vacuum floors and carpets.
• Clean and supply restrooms with towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Wash building windows.
• Perform other duties as required, including lock and unlock assigned buildings or offices, secure buildings when facilities are not in use, remove snow from sidewalks and walkways, spread snow-melting salt and chemicals, empty outside trash, and move furniture.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Previous experience in custodial or housekeeping work is preferred but not required. Possession of a valid driver's license is also required.
