Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Assist the Director in making strategic decisions and policy-making for the AIS of Nursing Program.
    • Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to ensure the College's vision, mission, and core values are foundational elements in guiding decision-making and actions.
  • Faculty Development and Supervision
    • Assist with recruitment, supervision, development, and direction for faculty, to ensure curricula are current and consistently delivered in an environment and manner conducive to learning.
    • Develop and implement faculty development programs, including curriculum development, use of a Learning Management System (LMS), and assessment of knowledge and skills.
  • Program Evaluation and Management
    • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of narrative and statistical reports, records, and files related to assigned activities and personnel.
    • Ensure the AIS of Nursing Program operations are conducted in compliance with applicable state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, and within standards of accreditation.
  • Student Success and Support
    • Advise and counsel students, facilitating communication and maintaining satisfactory relationships between students and faculty members.
    • Promote student success by identifying and addressing potential barriers to success.
Requirements
  • Education
    • A master's degree in Nursing; a doctorate degree is preferred.
  • Experience
    • Three to five years of progressive leadership experience, including supervisory experience and prior experience with curriculum, academic programs, and the development and growth of academic initiatives.
    • Prior experience as an Associate Director in a nursing program is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and proposals effectively.
    • Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching Experience
    • Three to five years of teaching experience, using a Learning Management System.
  • Licensure and Certification
    • Licensed/eligible (unrestricted) as a Registered Nurse in California.
