Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our team at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. This is a full-time position that will involve performing specialized research work in the planning, conducting, and supervision of original research.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze large datasets of raw sequencing data using alignment and de novo assembly techniques.
  • Conduct downstream integrative multi-omics analyses to identify patterns and trends.
  • Benchmark methods and develop new pipelines, software, or databases related to the detection of transposable elements or viral integrations.
  • Review literature and incorporate findings into ongoing projects.
  • Optimize pipelines and parameters for specific projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of methods and parameters used.
  • Present research findings in meetings and conferences.
Requirements:
  • PhD or equivalent doctorate in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of modern research practices and standards.
  • Ability to organize work effectively and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
