Job Summary

We are seeking a Support Specialist to work one-on-one with a preschool child in a school environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shadowing the child in the classroom, attending therapy sessions, and responding to medical emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Shadow the child in the classroom and provide individualized support
  • Accompany the child to therapy sessions, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy
  • Respond to medical emergencies that may arise during the course of the day
  • Perform other responsibilities as required by the situation and supervisor

Requirements:

  • GED or high school diploma
  • 3-6 months experience as a support specialist
  • Trained in the use of an Epi-Pen
  • Ability to work with medically fragile children in a school environment
  • Mandatory fingerprinting through the Board of Education
  • Mandated Reporter certification
  • Recent Quantiferon TB test and pre-employment physical exam within the last year
  • Titer tests and lab paperwork within the last year for MMR, TDAP, Varicella, and Salavirus

Salary

The hourly rate for this position is $18.50.
