Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are essential to the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:

  • Welcome patients upon arrival with a friendly demeanor, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for the healthcare facility.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate necessary tests with various departments.
  • Clearly communicate registration processes and hospital policies, addressing any inquiries from patients and their families.
  • Guide visitors and patients to their appropriate destinations within the facility.
  • Assess the urgency of registrations based on the specific area of operation.
  • Utilize software to verify Medicare coverage for outpatient services and secure necessary patient signatures.
  • Collect and input vital patient information, including medical history and insurance details, into the electronic system.
  • Ensure proper consent for treatment is obtained from patients.
  • Facilitate communication with physicians' offices to finalize outpatient orders.
  • Provide patients with necessary documentation regarding privacy rights and obtain their acknowledgment.
  • Gather information regarding advance directives as per regulatory requirements.
  • Assist self-pay patients in initiating financial aid applications.
  • Issue wristbands to registered patients as per safety standards.
  • Distribute and explain necessary forms to patients and their guardians.
  • Route completed forms to the relevant departments.
  • Implement pre-registration for scheduled procedures and surgeries.
  • Complete necessary documentation for worker's compensation claims.
  • Manage incoming calls and ensure messages are directed appropriately.
  • Support the Emergency Department with supply orders and patient transfers as needed.
  • Verify insurance coverage for all patients during registration.
  • Collect co-payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those with prior experience in hospital registration. Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology are advantageous.

Skills Required:
