Transplant Surgeon

We are seeking a skilled Transplant Surgeon to join our team at Adelphi Medical Staffing. As a Transplant Surgeon, you will be responsible for performing kidney transplants without recipient nephrectomy and collaborating with the on-call Transplant Coordinator to bring transplant candidates in for potential transplants.

• Transplant call screening, accepting, and declining deceased donor kidneys
• Rounding on transplant patients in the hospital less than 90 days from transplant in collaboration with the Transplant Nephrologist
• Collaborating with IP staff, Tx Nephrologist, and Tx NP to assist with IP throughput
• Performing kidney transplants without recipient nephrectomy

• VT License
• BC/BE
• ASTS Certified (Transplant Surgery)
• BLS ACLS

This is a locum tenens opportunity with a call-only schedule. The facility is located in Burlington, VT, and the coverage period is ongoing. The patient volume varies, and rounding is included. The specialty backup is Anesthesiologists, and the midlevel in practice is a NP who does first assist in OR rounds IP and completes discharges.

Locum is welcome to attend the weekly Selection Committee meeting. Locum does not need to supervise NP. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.
