Job Summary

This position is located at the UAB Health System, a leading healthcare provider in the region. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical procedures to prepare patients for treatment or research protocol.
  • Assist physicians or other healthcare team members with completion of treatment/protocol.
  • Perform simple, non-invasive patient procedures according to applicable policy and/or protocol.
  • May perform various clerical and/or lab duties as requested.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Currently certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality.
