Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Supervisor - Flow Cytometry to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the flow cytometry section, ensuring the highest level of quality and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the section to maximize employee, equipment, and material utilization within budgetary constraints.
  • Perform supervisory functions, including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing staff development through performance evaluation and corrective counseling.
  • Perform advanced/specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques, including duplicating work of others to confirm test results.
  • Check and approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy.
  • Initiate quality-control measures and monitor the quality of work for adherence to laboratory standards.
  • Perform duties of a technologist as necessitated by absence or peak workload.
  • Complete special projects as requested, including surveys, statistical reports, studies, and research.
  • Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.
  • Complete training and competency checklists as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all established CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited institution.
  • Four to six years of full-time experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Flow Cytometry is a must.
