Healthcare Services Coordinator

Southeastern Rheumatology Alliance is seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Services Representative to provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, empathy, and a passion for assisting patients in navigating the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide courteous and professional greetings to patients and visitors.
- Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently using electronic scheduling systems.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and medical history during registration.
- Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients in a timely manner.
- Answer phone calls and inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Assist patients with completing registration forms and other necessary paperwork.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers as directed by physicians.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure patient satisfaction and continuity of care.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned, such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
Requirements:
- 1 year or more in a healthcare environment
- Associate degree or any combination of education and work experience in a customer service-related role.
- Experience with Medical terminology
