Radiology Technician and Phlebotomy Specialist

Department: Radiology

Position Status/Hours: This is an as-needed role designed to support patient volume demands, provide call coverage, and accommodate staff leave. The expected response time is 30 minutes. The department operates from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with call hours applicable outside of these times.

Job Overview:

The Radiology Technician is tasked with performing a variety of imaging procedures including general radiography, bone density assessments, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, CT scans, MRI, and fluoroscopy. Additionally, this role encompasses phlebotomy duties at outreach clinics, which involve blood collection, capillary punctures, specimen processing, and limited laboratory analyses. The position requires travel between the main facility and various clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate imaging equipment for diagnostic evaluations as instructed by the Radiologist.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
  • Position and transfer patients for imaging procedures while adhering to safety standards.
  • Assist medical professionals during examinations, utilizing sterile techniques and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, maintain accurate documentation, and assist with scheduling.
  • Travel to different locations as required for service delivery.
Qualifications:

Must be ARRT registered or eligible for registration. A valid Radiographer license from the State of Wisconsin is required. Familiarity with general radiography, fluoroscopy, and a willingness to undergo cross-training in Computed Tomography is essential.
