Position: Assistant Branch Manager

Role Summary: The Assistant Branch Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Branch Manager by providing leadership and assistance in all facets of branch operations. This position is essential in ensuring that exceptional service is delivered to both internal and external members. The Assistant Branch Manager will aid in the formulation, adjustment, and execution of procedures for daily operations, ensuring that the financial service needs of each member are met promptly and courteously. Additionally, this role encompasses the responsibility for the upkeep and security of the branch facility in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Branch Manager in overseeing all aspects of branch operations, including member services, lending, staff performance management, compliance, and facility management. Assume the duties of the Branch Manager when required.
  • Proactively educate members about all credit union offerings and actively promote cross-selling of products and services.
  • Address member transaction requests and account inquiries efficiently and accurately, including account maintenance tasks such as personal data updates and account closures.
  • Conduct regular cash audits on Teller cash drawers and, if applicable, on vault and ATM cash.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management regarding the hiring process, and assist in addressing performance issues and conducting performance reviews for branch personnel.
  • Resolve member complaints and issues to ensure the highest quality of service is maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance Metrics:

  1. Effectively educate and inform members about credit union products and services to meet their needs and achieve individual goals.
  2. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all credit union offerings, policies, and procedures to communicate effectively with both staff and members.
  3. Be available for travel to any branch location for support as needed and work on weekends when scheduled.
  4. Exhibit a professional demeanor and attitude consistently.
  5. Demonstrate a commitment to meeting the expectations of members, utilizing feedback for continuous improvement, and fostering effective relationships.
  6. Prioritize tasks efficiently to manage a diverse range of activities.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of one to three years in a similar or related role.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; one to two years of college preferred. Familiarity with Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations is essential.

Interpersonal Skills: The role requires interaction with individuals beyond immediate colleagues for routine matters, necessitating courteous communication with the public (members or vendors).

Other Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective interaction in various settings. Ability to prepare and maintain confidential records and reports is required.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Communicate in person and via telephone.
  • Identify and recognize small font communications.
  • Transport items weighing a minimum of 10 pounds.
