Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Job Summary:The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Mobile Response Team (MRT). As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide integrated behavioral healthcare services to adults in need of psychiatric and medical attention. Your expertise in prescribing psychiatric medications and coordinating care with community providers will be invaluable in helping our clients achieve their highest potential for health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients and other team members.
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.
- Provide initiation of low-barrier buprenorphine treatment services and connect clients to DESC's longitudinal opioid treatment team.
- Evaluate clients in crisis and advise courses of treatment, recommending crisis prevention and coordination with primary therapy.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed and participate in psychiatric consultation, supervision, and program meetings.
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric, licensed in the State of Washington with the Department of Health in good standing.
- Advanced knowledge and experience prescribing psychiatric medications.
- Interest or experience in working with clients who are difficult to engage and maintain in traditional mental health programs.
- Ability to relate to a wide range of people, demonstrating highly developed communication skills and a desire to serve homeless, mentally ill clients.
- Knowledge and skill in working with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, with homeless or formerly homeless individuals, and crisis intervention and stabilization experience.
- Familiarity with Recovery Principles, Crisis Intervention and Stabilization, Integrated Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders, Intensive Case Management, Illness Management, and relevant evidenced-based/emerging best practices.
The Mobile Response Team operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing 24/7 mental and behavioral health services to adults in need. As a member of our team, you will be expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative and potentially stressful environment, demonstrating a non-judgmental response to sensitive issues and a commitment to providing high-quality care to our clients.
Benefits:DESC offers a competitive salary range of $154,596.00 - $170,703.12 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including dental, life, long-term disability, and medical insurance, with no premiums or payroll deductions for employee coverage. Additionally, you will be eligible for an ORCA card subsidy, paid time off (34 days per year), and a retirement plan.
