About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Float Pool team at Ascension Saint Thomas. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
  • Perform select clinical duties, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Assist with basic clerical duties, including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions, including ordering and stocking of supplies.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Medical Assistant obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
