Medical Assistant II

Job Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) is a certified professional who provides direct care in a department setting. This role is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and maintaining a safe environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide basic nursing care, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration.
- Maintain a safe environment, including cleaning and disinfecting patient areas.
- Work collaboratively with the RN to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Certification in Patient Care (M.A., CNA, EMT, Paramedic, Patient Care Tech, etc.).
- Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Previous experience as a Monitor Technician, preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
- EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office, preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements:
- Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
