Night Custodian

Elmhurst University is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Night Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our buildings, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

• Perform daily custodial duties, including trash collection and removal, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, and dusting and polishing surfaces.
• Operate and maintain janitorial equipment, including automatic scrubbers and high-speed buffers.
• Assist in setting up or taking down special event setups, including moving and removing chairs, tables, and stages.
• Inspect equipment and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Support the University's mission, values, and vision, and demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team.
• Basic knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies, including their proper usage.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb stairs and ladders.

The Night Custodian will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
