Technical Service Specialist

About the Role
Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a skilled Technical Service Specialist to join our Global Polymers Applications Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers, developing new applications and products, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to resolve customer product and process-related issues
- Work with internal teams to determine root cause of product issues and develop solutions
- Conduct field trials at customer locations and document results
- Maintain customer and industry forums contacts and relationships
- Develop and deliver training to internal and external customers
- Prepare technical presentations, reports, and literature summarizing project results
- Represent Chevron Phillips Chemical in industry forums and trade associations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., plastic technology, engineering, or science)
- 3+ years of experience in the flexible packaging industry, with a focus on polymer processing and property testing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Mastery of polymer characterization methods and tools (e.g., thermal analysis, rheology, FTIR, NMR, TEM, SEM)
- Experience with polyethylene resins and products
- Participation in industry organizations (e.g., ASTM, SPE, Flexible Packaging Association)
