Clinical Research Nurse Role Overview

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Research Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our Comprehensive Cancer Center, you will play a vital role in organizing and coordinating care for patients on clinical research protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient eligibility and registration for clinical trials
  • Monitor patient care and ensure proper follow-up
  • Develop and revise patient care orders
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff nurses to ensure protocol compliance
  • Assist in developing tools to meet the requirements of new protocols
  • Manage complex clinical trials, including translational investigator-initiated research and multi-center trials
  • Collect and enter data for all patients enrolled on protocol
  • Participate in analyzing research data
  • Communicate with outside sponsors regarding protocol and patient status
  • Act as a patient advocate, providing education and responding to questions from patients

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is required, along with a current State of Ohio nursing license. Clinical research certification from SoCRA or ACRP is preferred. Considerable experience in clinical research and direct patient care is also required.

Compensation

The starting base pay for this position is $72,200.00.
