Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient specimens
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance of laboratory tests and procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory test results and patient information
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results
- Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
- Current license or temporary license as Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician in the state of practice
- Meets CLIA and CAP requirements for testing personnel relative to scope of duties
- ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician
- Hospital or clinic laboratory testing experience
The Medical Laboratory Technician will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with frequent exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent will work under general supervision and will be required to maintain confidentiality of patient-related information.
Physical and Environmental DemandsThe Medical Laboratory Technician will be required to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. The incumbent will be required to work in a patient care area, work in an area where patients enter, work directly with patients, and/or work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
