Julie Billiart Network is dedicated to providing exceptional educational experiences for children in grades K-8 who face unique learning challenges. We are a Catholic, non-public educational institution that honors various faith traditions.

The Educational Support Specialist plays a crucial role in creating a nurturing educational environment that enables students to reach their full potential across intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological dimensions.

This role involves designing and executing an instructional framework that aligns with the educational standards of Julie Billiart Network and the Diocese of Cleveland. The Educational Support Specialist will collaborate in a co-teaching model, working alongside another specialist to lead classroom instruction.

Essential Qualifications and Certifications

  • Possession of a valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License or actively pursuing one.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with students with ADHD, Autism, or other learning challenges.
Key Responsibilities

The following duties outline the primary responsibilities of this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.   • Design, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities that promote active learning through diverse materials and resources.
  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans and curriculum outlines.
  • Clearly communicate objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare the classroom environment for educational activities.
  • Select and utilize various instructional resources and methods, including relevant technology, to accommodate students' diverse needs.
  • Guide and supervise students in utilizing learning materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and assess student performance and development.
  • Provide constructive feedback on students' submitted work.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of student progress and development.
  • Update all necessary documentation as required by laws, district policies, and school regulations.
  • Prepare required reports on student performance and activities, regularly communicating essential information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
  • Implement appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Participate in school, level, and parent meetings.
  • Attend professional development sessions as mandated by the Principal.
  • Set professional development goals as required by the LPDC.
  • Stay informed about developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methodologies, making relevant adjustments to instructional plans.
  • Prepare Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), IEP Progress Reports, and Service Plans as mandated by state law.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
