The Endocrinology Department at Catholic Medical Center is seeking dedicated clinicians to provide exceptional care for hospitalized patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Endocrinologist, you will be primarily engaged in direct patient care, which constitutes the core of your professional duties within the department. Your responsibilities will encompass:

1. Conducting inpatient consultations from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, with a commitment to completing consults within 24 hours and responding to urgent consults within one hour during working hours.

2. Providing weekend on-call services for critical consults as necessary.

3. Demonstrating expertise in insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, and comprehensive diabetes management, while being adept at caring for post-surgical cardiac and bariatric patients, as well as addressing OB/GYN endocrine specialty needs.

4. Engaging in direct communication with patients and, when appropriate, their family members, friends, and advocates to ensure clear understanding of patient status and care plans.

5. Maintaining ongoing communication with hospital medicine physicians and the care team responsible for managing patients currently in the hospital.

6. Ensuring accurate and timely completion of all clinical documentation to uphold optimal patient care and comply with regulatory, licensure, and accreditation standards.

7. Fostering a positive work environment within interdisciplinary teams and aligning efforts with other Hospital Medicine initiatives.

8. Performing additional related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A minimum of MD/DO, board-certified/board-eligible in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine, with a valid state license or the ability to obtain one, along with Federal DEA registration.

Experience:

Preferred candidates will have board certification and at least two years of experience as an Endocrinologist.

Licensure and Certification:

The physician must maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in New Hampshire, possess federal and state prescriptive authority, and achieve board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine/American Board of General Medicine in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws of Catholic Medical Center.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Clinical training and competencies as required by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Endocrinology.
  2. Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical records.
  3. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a cooperative and culturally sensitive manner.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
