Job Title: Academic Success Specialist

Job Summary:

Mercer University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Success Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and assessing the academic and professional advising program, developing viable alumni and student mentoring programs for at-risk students, and leveraging existing relationships with community partners to support student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Track Doctor of Pharmacy student academic performance in the first three professional years of the curriculum (approximately 350 students) with follow-up for at-risk students.
  • Develop and implement effective advising strategies to support student success.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and address student needs.
  • Provide educational counseling and support to students.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to support student success.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in education or related field (MEd, MAT, Ed.S.)
  • Two years of prior experience working with students in need of academic support, preferably in higher education.
  • Training in educational counseling
  • Proficiency in data management to create reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
