Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Kleinschmidt Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and managing projects related to dam removals, embankment dam repairs, fish passage facilities, recreation facilities, renewable energy projects, and stream restorations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage projects with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Develop and implement geotechnical investigation, monitoring, and instrumentation programs
  • Collaborate with clients and co-workers to apply geotechnical engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction
  • Perform dam safety, foundation, or construction inspections
  • Develop and implement geotechnical investigation, monitoring, and instrumentation programs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil (concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering) or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited college/university
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer
  • 10+ years of experience in civil engineering
  • Design and construction experience of embankments, deep and shallow foundation design, temporary excavation support, and embankment condition assessments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's in Civil Engineering with concentration in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering
  • Experience performing dam safety, foundation, or construction inspections
  • Experience in slope stability and seepage analyses, preferably with Slope/W and Seep/W software

Additional Requirements:

  • Willing to become licensed in other states in which we perform engineering
  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States and able to acquire authorization to work in Canada
  • Must be willing to travel periodically and possess a valid driver's license
