Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze incident data to uncover trends in reported cybersecurity events.
- Advise on comprehensive defense strategies and best practices.
- Conduct triage for Computer Network Defense incidents, assessing scope and urgency.
- Compile known resolutions and workarounds to mitigate potential cybersecurity incidents.
- Utilize cybersecurity principles to detect and defend against intrusions across IT networks.
- Monitor external threat intelligence sources to stay updated on the cybersecurity landscape.
- Investigate incidents to determine root causes and gather necessary background information.
- Evaluate network alerts to identify potential security breaches.
- Document and track Computer Network Defense incidents from detection to resolution.
- Provide support during assigned shifts, maintaining operational readiness.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations.
- Familiarity with incident response methodologies and NIST standards.
- Understanding of the NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System.
- Knowledge of various attack stages and vulnerability recognition.
Desired Skills:
- Expertise in operational threat environments and system security vulnerabilities.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Incident Management, Operations Management, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required. A high school diploma combined with 3-5 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
Certifications:
Preferred certifications include GCIH, GCFA, GISP, GCED, CCFP, or CISSP.
